Who Are You Walking For?

We're just two weeks away from the second annual Walk for Animals, to benefit the MSPCA at Nevins Farm! The Walk will be held at Spencer Peirce Little Farm in Newbury, where dozens of our farm animals are permanently fostered, a reminder that our Walk is for all animals in need!  With contests, prizes, great food, music, and of course, lots of animals, this is one event you don't want to miss!  Everyone can participate - young or old!  This is a family-friendly event, so if you have kids at home that are looking for ways to help animals, this is it!  To register for the Walk, click here.  To see highlights of last year's Walk, click here

Meet Princess
Abandoned Toy Chihuahua Needs Heart Surgery
Princess is a young 2 year old chihuahua that was abandoned in the parking lot of the Noble Family Adoption Center at the MSPCA.  Veterinarians have discovered a serious heart defect which requires surgery so that she can have a chance at a new life.  Click here to meet Princess and learn how you can help Princess and the thousands of other animals with medical needs at the MSPCA at Nevins Farm!

From Whoa to Wow! Seven Tips for Taking Great Photos of Horses
Equine Photography Workshop September 26 & October 3
In this two-hour workshop led by award-winning teacher and equine photographer Vanessa Wright, you'll learn seven foolproof techniques for taking great pictures of horses, and you'll have a chance to practice your new skills in a photo shoot with MSPCA horse models! Bring a pen and any camera, from a digital SLR to a cell phone.

Pet Memorial Sunday
Sunday September 12 at Hillside Acre Animal Cemetery

Hillside Acre Animal Cemetery is the final resting place for more than 18,000 beloved pets, and a place of peace and contemplation for pet owners who visit.  Join us as we celebrate the bond between pets and people in our observance of Pet Memorial Sunday, at a small service at 2pm on the grounds of Hillside Acre.

  

Our guest speaker for the service is Joan Maione of Proctor Animal Cemetery, part of Greater Nashua Humane Society.  RSVP's are requested, to Dave Gordon at dgordon@mspca.org, or by telephone at (978) 685-0632.

Puppy Play 'n Learn Classes Now Enrolling!
Start your puppy off on the right track!
If you have a puppy between 8 to 16 weeks old, we hope you'll join us for this 4 week class!  Puppy Play 'n Learn is a great way to get your pup started on fun learning while contributing to the positive early socialization experiences that are so critical for your puppy's development.  Classes are offered every Saturday morning, and enrollment is rolling, so you can start any week.  Gift certificates are also available, so if you know someone with a new puppy, this will be a perfect gift!
