As reported in the New York Times, about 4,000 dogs are being rescued from the Virginia breeding facility, Envigo, where they were forced to live in confined, unsanitary, and inhumane conditions. The Virginia facility was shut down in early July.

We and Northeast Animal Shelter are bringing some of these Beagles to Massachusetts, where loving homes await. In a little less than a week, we are heading to Virginia to transport up to 50 dogs - we’ll know more about the precise number of dogs as we get closer to the transport date. Early reports from the transport team indicate as many as eight pregnant Beagles will be brought up, ensuring availability of puppies for adoption in the weeks to come.

As you can imagine, finding the resources and space needed to care for such a large number of dogs will not be easy, but we’re up to the challenge because we know you’re on our side. Like every transport, these beagles will have to undergo medical and behavior evaluations, and of course they’ll need plenty of kibble, treats, and other supplies. Please give if you can!
