Don’t be spooked by his name, Boo is a sweet and chatty little guy with more charm than a catnip factory!
This kitty is on a low-carb diet and is on medication to help manage his diabetes (staff can tell you more!). He loves head scratches and soft beds to snuggle up on, so he’s looking for adopters that are ready to help him live out his best life as a couch potato! Boo is full of love and a pinch of sass, so he would like to be your one and only pet, please!

Meet Morticia! This gentle soul recently arrived in our care, and we are still getting to know her. Morticia was unfortauntely diagnosed with Regressive FeLV. Even though Feline Leukemia (FeLV) is an untreatable disease, cats with FeLV live happy and comfortable lives and make wonderful companions!
Regressive FeLV means the cat is producing a immune response, preventing the virus from replicating in the body. Cats with Regressive FeLV are less likely to be shedding the virus, however, they should either live as single cats or in groups with other FeLV positive cats, as their status may change and they may become infectious to other cats during their lifetime. Cats with Regressive FeLV may become ill with diseases related to the virus, but they may also go on to eliminate the virus completely.
Stop by Northeast Animal Shelter to meet Morticia. We have open adoption hours 7 days a week from 11:30am-5pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.

Meet Snout Moth! They have been waiting patiently at the shelter for their perfect adopter to come along. You are welcome to enter our cat rooms during open hours. Staff and volunteers will be happy to assist you!
Snout Moth is a spirit cat, and if you adopt them, you probably wouldn’t even notice they are in your house if it weren’t for the mysterious overnight disappearance of cat food.
We often can’t predict how a spirit cat will be after they settle in – some become comfortable around their family and choose to spend time with them by sharing the same space or allowing some petting, while others continue to prefer to hide when there’s any commotion. Spirit cats generally prefer to spend their time around other cats and make an excellent kitty friend to a cat already in the home. Our staff can help prepare adopters to welcome a spirit cat into a quiet home, but patience and understanding will go a long way with Snout Moth.
Stop by our Cape Cod Adoption Center to meet Snout Moth. We have open adoption hours Tuesday-Sunday from 1pm-4pm - no appointment needed to speak to a staff person regarding available pets.

This kitten is ready to find a new home of their own! We are still getting to know them, but like most kittens, they will need a family to teach them all the kitten basics like socializing with people and playing with appropriate toys. They could likely go to a home with another cat who wants an annoying younger sibling to be a role model to.

Meet Teddy! This sweet senior boy has been waiting patiently at the shelter for his perfect adopter to come along. We don’t know a lot about Teddy’s past, but we know he’s been through a lot of transitions recently, so he’d love a quieter home where he can settle in and come out of his shell at his own pace! As a gentleman enjoying his golden years, Teddy says no thank you to living with other pets, please!
Teddy has been overlooked due to his age – while kittens and young adults cats are often adopted quickly, many of our senior cats wait longer to find their perfect match. We think Teddy deserves the best retirement home, and adopting a senior can be extremely rewarding. They are extra grateful… and so are we!

While in our care he seems to be a shy and quiet guy. He has lived with other cats in the past , but unknown if he has ever lived with a dog. Due to his shy nature would do best in a low traffic home.
Please ask a Staff member if you like to meet him.

Spirit cats are very shy with people, and live in your home but are rarely seen – hence their name. They are cats who coexist in your home, and sometimes may grant you the opportunity to touch them – or they may not. Despite being shy with people, spirit cats are usually great with other cats! They are used to living with many cats, and can make excellent companions for cats in your home. It’s not uncommon for a spirit cat to get used to one or two people over time, and those people will be allowed to touch them and they may even choose to hang out near you or sleep on your bed at night. They are a great choice for people with a quiet household, who want to make a difference for an individual cat. Patience and understanding are the best tools when welcoming a spirit cat into your home. It’s important to know that spirit cats won’t magically turn into a normal acting cat – what you see is what you get for a long time, maybe always.
They are a fine choice for situations where you don’t have a lot of time to devote to a pet as they don’t require a lot of attention from humans. They are not a good choice for a busy home, including those with small children.
